Ranchi, April 29: Designers and creative professionals from various tribes across India attended an online workshop with Evelyn Mora, the founder of Digital Village, a social Metaverse village, to understand the global trends in the digital space and the impact that they might have on tribal communities and tribal culture. The workshop was organised by the Tribal Design Forum.

Evelyn Mora is an internationally awarded and renowned strategist, technology and sustainability consultant based in Paris, France. Her Digital Village prioritises social and digital sustainability through its Digital land and Digital assets marketplace.
During the workshop, Evelyn shared her journey of setting up the Helsinki Fashion Week and her foray into the digital space to create the first transparent global digital sustainability study, calculations and recommendations for more secure cyberspace in addition to establishing the Digital Village.
The tribal designers got an opportunity to get an insight into the future of the fashion industry and marketplace in the virtual space along with obtaining a better understanding of Web3.0, Blockchain, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Cryptocurrency.
Speaking at the workshop, Evelyn highlighted that, “Metaverse is a digital tool and it could be put into use effectively once the purpose and objective of its use are clear. Tribal communities could use it to their advantage to create spaces and activities to interact and conduct business with communities from different geographies.”
During the workshop with Evelyn Mora, the tribal designers explored the digital landscape of the future and brainstormed its implications on designers, the design industry, tribal communities and tribal culture.
She also gave an insight into the life and the fast-emerging marketplace in the Metaverse with anecdotes from experience in the fashion industry.
The Tribal Design Forum has weekly sessions where best practices and case studies are shared by leading professionals who have been actively working for the socio-economic development of tribal communities in India and around the world.
They believe that tribal communities and professionals can achieve more if they are provided easy access to domain experts, thought leaders and market leaders.
