Ranchi, Sept.4: Jharkhand police today arrested two attempting to encash a cheque worth Rs 4.8 crore from the Kanta Toli branch of HDFC Bank under Lower Bazar police station in the heart of state capital.
They were arrested on the information of bank officials who became suspicious after getting a cheque of high amount and also found the cheque not in accordance with the security standards.
City DSP Deepak Kumar informed this saying that those arrested included Mukul Aind and Albert Ekka, both in the age group of 30 to 35. ‘There was one more who escaped from the bank sensing trouble,” he said.
He said an FIR has been registered against them under section 420 of IPC apart from other provisions in this connection.
Asked about the account holder he expressed his inability to share due to security reasons. Asked about the organisation in the name of which cheque was issued he said ‘Atelier Jharkhand’ but when asked about the whereabouts of the organization he expressed his inability saying ‘probe is on.’
