Dhanbad, May 13: Two members of a marriage party including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and five others were injured in a road mishap on Friday morning.

According to the information, their car rammed into a roadside tree at Dhibra village under Bagodar police station, around 65 km away from Giridih district headquarters.

The deceased were identified as Arun Kumar (CRPF) and Chhotu Kumar Singh, the residents of Masipidhi village under Barkatta police station of Hazaribagh district. Both had come to attend the marriage of their relative in Bagodar.

Bagodar police station officer in-charge Nitish Kumar told media persons that all five injured marriage party members were admitted at Bagodar community health centre (CHC). The doctors attending them said the condition of the two persons was serious and if needed, would be referred to Sadar hospital.

The police officer said that the marriage party had gone to Khorimahua village of Dhanbar police station from Atka village of Bagodar police station. While returning in the morning, the car of the marriage party reportedly became uncontrolled, rammed into the tree and turned turtle.

“Police with the help of local people rescued the trapped people from the car. Two of them were found dead on the spot while five injured persons were admitted to the hospital,” said the police officer.

In 10 days, this is the second road accident of a marriage party in the Giridih district. Earlier, a bus of a marriage party had overturned on Bhelbaghati road in which one person died.
