Ramgarh, Sept 14: Continuous rain in the district for the last two days led to an increase in the water level in rivers, drains and dams. The water in Nalkari Dam located at Patratu also reached near the danger mark after which, it was decided to open two emergency gates of the dam.

PTPS executive engineer cum Asset Officer Suresh Prasad informed that given heavy rainfall in the last 48 hours, two other gates of the Patratu dam were opened on Wednesday morning. After this, a total of 4 gates are open to discharge excess water. 25000 cubic meters of water is being discharged per hour from each gate.

Ramgarh Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra has appealed to the people not to go near other water sources including the Damodar river and make other people aware of it. Along with this, she has directed the concerned officers to make people aware of their areas too.
