Ramgarh, April 8: On NH 33 near Joda Talab in Mandu, a bus named Manoj went uncontrolled, crossed the divider and ran over a bike rider. Aman Kumar Mahto (32 years), son of Ramlal Mahto, a resident of Pindra Rauta. He died on the spot. This incident took place on Friday evening.
After the incident, the local villagers tried to rescue the youth trapped under the bus. But the people did not succeed. Mandu police station in-charge Anant Kumar Singh immediately reached the spot along with the team and took stock of the situation. He immediately brought out the deceased under the bus with the help of a crane.
Manoj passenger bus (number JH02AY/8304) running from Hazaribagh to Ranchi was going towards Ranchi at a high speed. As the bus reached a sharp turn near Joda Talab, the driver lost control of the bus. The bus crossed the divider made in the middle of the road and came to the second line and ran over the bike rider.
Half a dozen passengers aboard the bus suffered minor injuries in the road accident. Despite this, they quickly got down from the bus, took another vehicle and went towards their destination. The bus driver and helper ran away from the spot.
The villagers have demanded from the administration to slow down the speed of all the vehicles plying from Hazaribagh to Ranchi in densely populated places like Mandu.
