New Delhi, April 6: The United Nations General Assembly will vote on whether Russia should remain on the Human Rights Council on Thursday, April 7, according to an AFP report.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Indian Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar warned in Parliament that the conflict in Ukraine had global implications and that India will protect its national interests.

In the aftermath of the Bucha deaths, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called for Russia’s expulsion from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in a speech to the UNSC on Tuesday, 5 April.

Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also urged to conduct an independent probe of the killing of civilians in Bucha.

“I am deeply shocked by the images of civilians killed in Bucha, Ukraine. It is essential that an independent investigation leads to effective accountability,” Guterres tweeted.
