Lucknow, Feb 3: Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thrusday filed nomination from Sirathu in Kaushambi district, for the upcoming Assembly polls.
Interestingly, Maurya will be against Pallavi Patel, Anupriya Patel’s sister. Pallavi Patel will represent the opposition Samajwadi Party-led coalition; her mother, Krishna Patel, is the leader of the Apna Dal (K), which is part of the SP-led coalition.

At present, Keshav Prasad Maurya is a member of the state Legislative Council (MLC). He resigned as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the state’s Phulpur constituency in 2017 after the BJP won the UP assembly elections to become the state’s deputy chief minister.
Notably on February 10, the first round of voting in Uttar Pradesh will take place, followed by six additional rounds on February 14, 20, 23, 27, March 3 and 7. On March 10, all 403 assembly constituencies will have their ballots counted.
