Lucknow, March 7: The seventh and final phase of Uttar Pradesh’s Assembly elections has commenced on Monday. This round will bring to a close one of the state’s most bitterly contested elections.
Purvanchal has 54 Assembly constituencies spread over nine districts where voting is taking place. Azamgarh, Mau, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Bhadohi, and Sonbhadra are among the districts where voting is taking place.
According to ECI, 8.58% voter turnout was recorded in Phase 7 till 9 am. Varanasi logged 8.93% polling. The voting commenced at 7 am and will continue till 6 pm. The counting of votes is scheduled to take place on 10 March.

- Azamgarh: 8.08%
- Bhadohi: 7.41%
- Chandauli: 7.72%
- Ghazipur: 8.39%
- Jaunpur: 8.99%
- Mau: 9.97%
- Mirzapur: 8.81%
- Sonbhadra: 8.39%
- Varanasi: 8.90%
