Goa: Veteran film actor Nana Patekar, 75, died in Goa on Thursday morning, according to his son Malhar Patekar, who confirmed the news. He had reportedly complained of severe chest pain before his death.
Found Unconscious at His Residence
When doctors reached his residence in Dona Paula, Goa, Patekar was found unconscious. He was given cardiac massage and taken to Manipal Hospital, but the cause of death was severe cardiac arrest, according to doctors.
Doctors Performed CPR for 45 Minutes
Doctors tried to revive him with CPR for around 45 minutes but could not save him. The hospital’s medical team declared him dead at about 5:30 am. News of his passing has sent a wave of grief through the film industry.
Remembered for Powerful Roles and Voice
Patekar was known for his commanding voice and delivered memorable performances in films such as “Krantiveer,” “Tirangaa,” “Parinda” and “Ab Tak Chhappan.”
