Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022: Bengal, Mumbai, Maharashtra win Group E matches

Ranchi, Nov 19: Maharashtra, Bengal and Mumbai won their respective matches against Services, Railways and Mizoram during their Elite, Group E matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 being held in Ranchi.

In the Maharashtra vs Services match, batting first, Maharashtra put up a total of 304/8 as Rahul Tripathi (111) scored yet another century in the tournament. Captain Ankit Bawne also chipped in with a hand 73. In reply, Services were restricted to 243 in 46.4 overs despite Shubham Rohilla’s 114. Maharashtra’s Manoj Ingale took 4 for 40.

In the Bengal vs Railways match, Bengal scored 248 for 9. Dhrushant Soni and Karn Sharma of Services took three wickets each. In reply, Services could manage to score 191. Bengal won the match by 57 runs.

In the final match of the day held at Mecon Stadium, Mizoram batted first and could manage to score only 188 runs during their quota of 50 overs. Mumbai’s Royston Dias chipped in with three wickets. In reply, Mumbai managed to chase down the total in mere 22.5 overs as Yashasvi Jaiswal top scored with 63.
