Jamshedpur, July 11: Most districts across Jharkhand are still facing deficit rainfall due to weak monsoon activity.
Rainfall activity has been restricted over the state for the past couple of days as the monsoon trough has drifted towards the north.
Statistics revealed that the state’s rain deficit figure had come down to 38 per cent last week but because of inadequate rainfall activity during the past couple of days, the deficit figure rose to 41 per cent.
Weathermen said the state will witness subdued monsoon activity today. IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre has issued an alert of light rain and thundershowers activity in isolated areas of the state during the next two days.
The local forecast for Ranchi suggested generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers activity for the next two to three days.
According to Meteorological statistics, as of today except for Godda and Sahibganj all the other 22 districts figured in the rain deficit list.
Weathermen said the state will witness widespread rain only after the monsoon currents get revived.
