New Delhi, Oct 19: The world will have more faith in India’s business skills, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who on Wednesday inaugurated the nation’s largest-ever Defense Expo in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar.
“It will strengthen the world’s belief in India’s business skills,” he said.
With this, he also started the “Mission DefSpace” to improve India’s defence readiness in the area of space. According to a Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) release, the government’s Mission DefSpace project aims to facilitate the creation of cutting-edge defence forces solutions in the space domain through industry and entrepreneurs.

He virtually oversaw the laying of the cornerstone for the Rs 1,000 crore Deesa airfield in Gujarat’s Banaskantha, which will allow the armed services to undertake air and sea operations simultaneously and speed up response times. It will take 21 months to finish the project.
The expo will stay open in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, till October 22. The theme for the 12th iteration of the event is “Path to Pride.”
“This event is going to initiate friendly relations with African nations, too,” said PM Modi.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also addressed the event and said the expo aims to showcase the country’s strong defence mechanism and the spirit of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’.
