Will sue Rahul Gandhi over ‘Modi’ surname remark: Lalit Modi

New Delhi, March 30: Lalit Modi, the IPL founder said on Thursday that he will sue Rahul Gandhi in a UK court.

This incident occurs only days after Rahul Gandhi was found guilty of defamation and given a two-year jail sentence by a Surat court for his comments regarding the ‘Modi surname.’

Rahul Gandhi allegedly stated, “How come all thieves have the same last name as Modi,” during a rally.

Rahul Gandhi mentioned Lalit Modi, who is accused of financial irregularities in the IPL, as well as the wanted diamond magnate Nirav Modi in his statements.

Taking to Twitter, Lalit Modi today said, “he looked forward to seeing him make a complete fool of himself”.

A day after being found guilty of defamation by a court in Surat, Gujarat, Gandhi, who represents the Wayanad parliamentary seat in Kerala, was removed from the Lok Sabha on March 24.

On Wednesday, the Congress reiterated its support for former party leader Rahul Gandhi and accused the government of moving hastily as part of a plot to bar him from the Lok Parliament.
