Dhanbad, Oct 5: After Women’s police station officer-in-charge Rupa Tirkey, another woman was found hanging in Sahebganj Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP)-9 barrack under Jirwabari police station on Tuesday morning.

Sahebganj Superintendent of Police (SP) Anuranjan Kispotta said that Constable Rekha Devi had brought the victim to her house to look after her infant child. She was found hanging in the room at around 8 a.m. in the morning. “The deceased was the sister-in-law of Constable Rekha Devi and had been living with her for some time,” he added.

The SP has ordered a standard legal investigation for the incident to determine the cause of the suicide.

Rekha Devi was the first person to spot the woman hanging in the room. She immediately informed the Jirwabari police station. Officer-in-charge Saurabh Kumar reached the spot and began a preliminary investigation of the incident.

“The body has been sent for post-mortem. Only on the basis of post-mortem and investigation reports we can determine the reason for death,” he said.

Hanging death has shrouded the mystery in hustle-bustle at JAP-9 barrack. Rupa Tirkey, the officer in charge of the Sahebganj Women’s Police Station, was found hanging in her room three months ago. The incident is being investigated by the CBI. The team has probed for three rounds but is yet to obtain any facts.
