Woman’s body found in sack in Ranchi garbage dumping area

Ranchi, Jan 27:The police have recovered the body of an unidentified woman (40 years old) tied up in a sack from the garbage dump area of Ratu police station area in the capital. Police have expressed apprehension that the woman may have been strangled to death elsewhere. After this, the dead body might have been thrown in the dumping area after tying it up in a sack. Police have sent the body to RIMS for post-mortem.

As per sources, at ten o’clock on Thursday morning, dogs were gathered near a tied up sack near the road in the garbage dumping area. Villagers from nearby then realized that it was because of the sack. Upon checking, the dead body was found and the Ratu police were informed. Police reached the spot soon and began an investigation.

After receiving information about the body, the female policemen became involved with the police team. The body seems to be of a 40-year-old woman. Police have seized the body and sent it for a post-mortem.

Police noticed blood near the woman’s nose and have expressed apprehension that the woman has been strangled to death elsewhere and the body was tied up in a sack and left near the garbage dump to hide the evidence. The forensic department has collected evidence from the scene.
