Ranchi, Jan.25: Angry with the abduction of a lady doctor in Chandwa, Women Doctors’ Wing of Indian Medical Association (IMA), returned happy after a meeting with DGP Neeraj Sinha at his office at the state police headquarters in Dhurwa.
“The abductor has been arrested. Police have done a good job. Now the ransom amount taken by the abductor has to be returned,” said Dr Bharti Kashyap, President of Women Doctors’ Wing of IMA after meeting the DGP.
When Dr Bharti was praising the police, IMA president Dr Shambhu Singh, and Secretary President Dr Pradeep Singh besides a section of terrified lady doctors working in remote areas were accompanying her.
Before meeting DGP Sinha, Dr Bharti was worried about the abduction of a lady doctor working in the remote area.
The doctor, Dr Nimilar Kumari, was abducted on January 12 from Chandwa in Latehar. She was released from Ramgarh after payment of ransom amount of Rs 2.5 lakh. An FIR was registered in this connection on January 16.
After registration of an FIR, police recovered the car used in crime and had started conducting raids at different locations with the lady doctor to arrest the abductor.
Though the abductor has been arrested, police are yet to disclose his name.
