Daltonganj, June 21: Yoga can play a major role in taking off exam stress of the students, said a dedicated Yoga girl Sweety Kumari who is an MA in English with Honours from Daltonganj based Nilamber Pitamber University.

Sweety Kumari said, “Examination brings with it stress and anxiety. It grips the brilliant and the mediocre students alike. Yoga helps in destressing. I ask our brothers and sisters studying in schools and colleges to do Yoga every day. It always does good.”

She said she too had exam stress. She used to have a headache. However, she said she used to overcome it with simple Yoga exercises.

On being asked that Yoga is said to be a rich man’s exercise as poor all day toils and that is their Yoga to which this Yoga girl Sweety Kumari said, “Yoga does not make any distinction between rich and poor. Good health is for all. Yoga is a passport to good health.”

However, Sweety Kumari has her own worries when she said, “It’s one year now that I have passed MA English with marks higher than what the UGC has set in that is 55 per cent. I look forward to doing a job. But here I am not getting it.”

Sweety has urged the Governor cum Chancellor of Jharkhand and Vice Chancellor of the Nilamber Pitamber University Daltonganj to make Yoga must in the academic curriculum. She reiterated “Include Yoga in the syllabus.”

She said “There should be a routine for Yoga in school and college. There may be a lukewarm response to it in the beginning but one day Yoga will be a passion for the students.”

Sweety Kumari said there is no need to buy costly mats for Yoga. Any smooth space in a corner of the house can be a place for doing Yoga.

She said, Yoga should be in mind. It should not be a physical show.

Reminded that 90 per cent of the housewives do not do Yoga to which this Yoga girl said “This is unfortunate. Every woman working or housewife should do Yoga for herself. It will keep her family and children happy.”

She said, “Today there is a fashion and culture of going to the gym. I am not against it. What I want to impress upon is that for Yoga you are not to take the extra mile. Just do Yoga at home  in the backyard of the house.”

She said, “Yoga is the best part of my life and I wish others to have the same.”
