Ranchi, Aug 22: Three people of the same family were hacked to death. This incident took place in Khunti.

Khunti Superintendent of Police (SP) Aman Kumar informed this saying, “Hemant Tirkey, who is the accused, has been arrested. He is a relative of all those killed.”

Asked about the reason SP Kumar said the incident took place due to a money dispute. He, however, did specify the amount saying “amount is little.”

The deceased include Beetna Munda and his two brothers Sura Munda and Vikas Munda.

According to the information, Hemant is a resident of the Murhu police station area. He had come to his maternal uncle’s house in Bhandara village located in the Khunti police station area three days ago.  Late on Sunday night, he murdered his relatives using a spade.

After getting information about the incident, the Khunti police reached the spot today and started an investigation. It is being said that the dispute arose over the distribution of the amount earned while working together.
