12 missing children in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur boat capsize pulled out dead

Muzaffarpur, Sept 15: The 12 kids who were reported missing after their boat capsized in the Bagmati River in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar were pulled out dead from the water on Friday.

Around 15 to 20 individuals who were aboard the unfortunate boat that capsized in the Bagmati River in the Benibad police station area of Muzaffarpur were successfully rescued on Thursday only.

After the capsize was reported, emergency rescue professionals from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were called into action.

Raghvendra Nagwal, Circle Officer, Gaighat (Muzaffarpur), stated on Friday that the deceased were identified as Kamini Kumari, Sushmita Kumari, Baby Kumari, Sazda Bano, Ganita Devi, Azmat, Ritesh Kumar, Shivji Chaupal, Samshul, Vaseem, Mintu, and Pintu.

During the ongoing rescue operation, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced on Thursday that support would be extended to the families affected by the incident.

“The district magistrate of Muzaffarpur has been told to inquire into the incident. The families of those affected by this accident will be provided assistance by the government,” the CM said on Thursday.
