12th P Rungta Memorial chess from April 7 to 9 in Chaibasa

Dhanbad, April 1: 12th Padambai Rungta Memorial West Singhbhum Senior District Chess Championship would be organized from April 7 to 9  in Chaibasa’s Sitaram Rungta Recreation Club Town Hall.

Giving this information, West Singhbhum District Chess Association Secretary Basant Kumar Khandelwal said that besides the memorial trophy, a total cash prize of Rs 18,500 would be distributed among the top 15 successful players in the championship on the basis of their performance.

Besides the senior group, winners and runners-up of  under-7, under-9, under-11, under-13 and under-15 boys and girls events participants would be also given cash prizes along with the trophy of best school players.

“On the basis  of performance  in this tournament, top four players  would be selected to represent West Singhbhum district in the Jharkhand State Championship 2023”, said Khandelwal.

Khandelwal said the entry fee for the championship has been fixed at Rs 200. The inauguration of the championship would be done at 11 am on April 7.
