Ranchi, Nov.14: CPI (ML) legislator Binod Singh wants copies of bills to come in public domain before their discussion in the assembly unlike existing practice of distributing it among MLAs either on the same day or two days before.
Singh shared his view during the fifth episode of the weekly show “News Maker in News Room,” produced by Hindi daily “Shubham Sandesh” and YouTube channel “Live Lagatar.”
Singh said if the content of bills comes in public domain before discussion in the house many valuable suggestions will come from common people and it will be a real democratic exercise in the interest of all.
Singh on the occasion also supported the idea of taking action against corruption by collecting evidence and filing petitions before the court against corrupt people.
“It is often seen that when not in power political parties talk much regarding eradicating corruption and when they come in power it shows reluctance to take action against the corrupt. This should not be done,” Singh said, presenting an example of corruption in the sixth JPSC examination.
Singh in the show expressed his dissatisfaction over the status of the employment generation saying most of the recruitment examinations organised by the state government landed in controversy. Explaining the reason behind the same he held the casual approach of the government employees in the formation of rules and regulations for recruitment examination and lack of willpower.
During the programme, he expressed his concern over the misuse of central agencies as political weapons and said that only those cases are probed which involved non-BJP leaders.
On the bill providing local status to those having 1932 Khatiyan, Singh said that the government should attempt to implement the provisions of the bills in its territorial limit.
Singh on the occasion also talked about left parties’ contribution to the struggle for the rights of the poor and establishment of Jharkhand as a separate state.
Dr. Santosh Manav, a senior journalist, hosted the programme.
