Dubey had lodged a complaint regarding irregularities in award for marks on the dissertation of the MA Political Science subject.
The UGC has further directed the director to keep Dubey apprised of the action taken report. Dubey had complained to the UGC on 1.12.2022.
Registrar of the NPU Dr Rakesh Kumar said he has received the UGC letter addressed to the director, higher education. “The university is on it,” he added.
The Political Science subject dissertation controversy, in a nutshell, is that MA Political Science students of the session 2020 -22 who downloaded and pasted content from the Google for their dissertation got higher marks than those few who prepared the dissertation a kind of mini research with their own study and effort.
Among these few was one Rahul Kumar Dubey, who strongly raised the banner for marks fudging in the dissertation paper of this subject forcing the Nilamber Pitamber university here to review the marks of the dissertation by an outside subject expert, consequent upon which the dissertation marks were overseen by an outside subject expert. Thereafter, marks were streamlined and accordingly marksheets were issued which was accepted by Rahul Kumar Dubey and others too.
The UGC letter, however, has caused a stir in the university.
Controller of the examinations Dr Sheo Pujan Prasad Singh said the university is of the strong view that this dissertation issue about which the UGC has so taken note of, stands all resolved as the complainant Rahul Kumar Dubey and others have not only received, recognized and accepted the marksheets but Dubey has for his academic career enhancement, used his MA Political Science marksheet for filling the form of the PhD entrance test and even took this prestigious examination.
There is no substance left now which the UGC is so looking for, asserted the Controller.
