16th Jharkhand State Youth Boxing Championship concludes at Noamundi

Noamundi, May 27: The 16th Jharkhand State Youth (Men & Women) Boxing Championship 2023 concluded at the Sports Complex in Noamundi (West Singhbhum) on Saturday.

DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President (Raw Materials), Tata Steel graced the occasion as the chief guest and gave away prizes to the winners and encouraged them to take part more and more events.

Among others, present on the occasion are Atul Kumar Bhatnagar, general manager (OMQ), Anand Bihari Dubey, secretary, Jharkhand Boxing Association, Deepak Srivastav, president, West Singhbhum Boxing Association, Rajiv Verma, treasurer, Jharkhand Boxing Association, coaches, refrees and judges from various districts.

In group category, East Singhbhum district was declared as winner (Men), and in women, West Singhbhum district was the winner.

Niraj Saha and  Gigyasa Kumari of East Singhbhum district were declared as Best Boxer in Boys and Girls category, respectively.

Similarly, Alok Kumar   of Ranchi district and Ayushi Mukhi of West Singhbhum district were declared as Best Challenger Boys and Best Challenger Girls, respectively.

In Women’s group, Annu of Ramgarh district bagged gold in 45-48 kg category, while  Anu Champia of West Singhbhum district won Gold in 48-50 category.

Gigyasa Kumari of East Singhbhum district bagged Gold in 54-57 kg category and  Sanskriti Kumari of Dhanbad won Gold in 60-63.5 kg category.

In Men’s 46-48 kg, Niraj Saha of East Singhbhum won Gold, while Mr Ronit Raj Gupta of same district won Gold in 48-51 kg category.

Asish Kumar (Ranchi), Rohit Kumar (East Singhbhum), Abhay Tirkey (Ranchi), Rohit Yadav (Ranchi), Saman Kumar Sahu (East Singhbhum), Suraj Kumar (East Singhbhum), Harsh Gupta (Dhanbad), Vivek Singh (Garwa), Subham Kumar (East Singhbhum) and Sumit Kumar (East Singhbhum) won Gold in various categories.

The three-day event witnessed participation from 12 districts across Jharkhand.

The championship was organiased in association with West Singhbhum District Boxing Association and Jharkhand Boxing Association.
