Ranchi: In a tragic turn of events, 18 people lost their lives during Durga Puja celebrations in Jharkhand across different districts on October 11 and 12. Out of these, six people were murdered, while 11 others died in various accidents. One more death remains under investigation as police try to determine whether it was a murder or an accident.
Incidents during Durga Puja:
– October 12: A woman was murdered with a sharp weapon in Simdega.
– October 12: The dismembered body of a man, missing for the last four days, was found in a forest in Deoghar.
– October 12: A youth was killed in a scuffle during a fair in Ranchi’s Kotwali area.
– October 12: Two children were buried alive while playing in the mud in Dumka.
– October 12: A worker died in an accident while working at a factory in Seraikela.
– October 12: Two youths were killed in a road accident in the Kudu area of Lohardaga.
– October 11: Two youths died in a road accident in Burmu, Ranchi.
– October 11: A lawyer’s father was stabbed to death in Chano, Ranchi.
– October 11: Three girls were crushed by a truck while on their way to a Durga Puja event near Muram Kala village, Ramgarh.
– October 11: A Deputy General Manager (DGM) from Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) died in a road accident.
– October 11: Three members of the same family were murdered with sharp weapons in Tebo, Chaibasa.
