20 doctors from Dhanbad deployed in Deoghar’s Shrawani Mela

Dhanbad June 27: As many as 20 doctors from Dhanbad and five from Latehar district have been deployed in the two months long Deoghar ‘Shrawani Mela’ scheduled to start from July 4 to August 31.

As per the list of medical officers issued by the under secretary of state government Prabhunath Sharma, a total of 220 doctors have been deployed in Deoghar (190) and Basukinath Dumka ( 30)  for catering health services to around 45 lakh devotees likely to visit Deoghar during the pious month.

Since due to ‘Malmas’, Shrawani Mela this year would continue for two months, the state government has deployed doctors in two phases at both the places, Deoghar and Basukinath, Dumka.

The first phase of deployment would be effective from July 3 to August 2 while the second phase of posting would begin from August 3 to August 31.

In the Mela, the highest 20 doctors of crisis-ridden Dhanbad have been deployed of which nine have to report in the first phase and  11 in the second phase. Even the medical officer in charge of two remote CHCs have been sent on deputation.

Interestingly, Ranchi and East Singhbhum which have services of doctors more than Dhanbad, have only 11 and 16 medical officers deployed. From Ranchi, five doctors in the first phase and six in the second phase while from East Singhbhum nine doctors in the first phase and seven in the second phase have been deployed.

After Dhanbad, the second highest number of doctors (17) have been sent from another crisis-ridden Giridih district. Nine doctors of Giridih would give service in the first phase and eight in the second.

In the list of doctors, the lowest, five each doctors from Latehar and Gumla districts have been deployed at Deoghar.

For Basukinath, Dumka, a total of 30 doctors from Santhal Pargana Division have been posted of which the highest 14 are from Godda, nine from Sahibganj and seven from Pakur.

The doctors deployed for the first phase have to report at their respective places on July 1 and doctors of the second phase on August 3.
