4th JIFFA: CUJ students showcase skills at photography exhibition, film screening at Ranchi

Ranchi, Oct.29: The photography exhibition and film screening of the students of Department of Mass Communication, Central University of Jharkhand under ‘4th Jharkhand Film Festival and Awards’, was inaugurated on 29 Oct. 2021 at 12:30 by Prof. Ajai Kumar Singh, Chief Proctor of Central University of Jharkhand and Rishi Prakash Mishra, Chairman JIFFA- 2021. They were accompanied by Sunil Badal, Senior Executive, All India Radio and Prof. Dev Vrat Singh of Department of Mass Communication.

Rishi Prakash Mishra on the occasion said, “the photographs reflects the mind and creativity of the young students. These kind of courses are offered in Ranchi with such talent output is really a surprise for me. I wish these young talents would take forward the name of Jharkhand.”

Prof. Ajai Singh, Chief Proctor, appreciated the photography and filmmaking skills of the students. He appreciated the efforts of the department and specially Dr. Sudarshan Yadav for coordinating the whole event and bringing the work of the university for the people of Ranchi.

Film Director, Rohitaswa Sharma and Rishabh Jain, whose film ‘Akaash Khula Hai’ is being screened during JIFFA-2021,were also present during the inauguration of the exhibition and film screening.

Padmashri Madhu Mansuri Hansmukh and Anil Thakur ‘Suman’ also visited the exhibition and film screening of CUJ and appreciated the students’ works. He was more than happy to see the theme and issues of Jharkhand in the films of CUJ.

Workshop on ‘Art of Speaking and Presentation style’ for Mass Communication students:

Sunil Badal, Vice-President, JIFFA-2021cum Senior Executive AIR, also talked to the students on the ‘Art of Speaking and Presentation style’ of different regional cinema in India. He introduced to the concept of common errors that a person makes while speaking and linked it with how it is same for story telling in cinematic way using visuals and sounds.

The students were happy and enthusiastic while attending the exhibition and workshop.

Faculty members, Dr. Amrit Kumar, Dr. Vinay Bhushan were also present during the event that is being coordinated by Dr. Sudarshan Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Mass Communication, Central University of Jharkhand.

He said that this is a great start that student’s work are being showcased through separate sections during the International Film Festival of Jharkhand. This would lead to great future for the visual communication students of Jharkhand.

The 3-day event has been organised at the Audrey House premises, Ranchi. It started today and will end on 31st October, 2021.
