53 wagons of goods train derail due to brake failure in Koderma-Manpur section

Koderma, Oct 26: 53 wagons of a coal-laden goods train derailed at Gurpa station between Koderma and Manpur railway division of Dhanbad railway division at 06.24 am. Due to this, rail traffic was disrupted on the up and down lines of the Gaya-Dhanbad route.

However, there has been no casualty in this incident. As per information, accident relief vehicles and teams of officials from Barwadih, Gaya, Nesuchbo Gomo, and Dhanbad have reached the spot.

According to information, a goods train of 58 wagons laden with coal was going from Koderma towards Gaya. The brake of the train failed after covering a distance of 15 to 20 km from Koderma. Due to this, 53 wagons got derailed. Due to the derailment of most of the wagons of the train, traffic in both up and down rail lines got affected.
