Ranchi, March 23: The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) matriculation-inter exam is set to begin from March 24, while the last paper is to be held on April 25. The matriculation exams will end by April 20, while the Inter exams will end on April 25.
The first paper for the students will be the vocational paper. On the lines of CBSE, both the exams will be conducted in two phases, wherein students will fill out answers in OMR sheets in the first phase while the exam in the second phase will be written.
Both exams will be conducted simultaneously. The first phase of the examination in matriculation will be held from 9:45 am to 11.20 am, and the second phase matriculation examination will be conducted from 11:25 am to 1:05 pm. Here, the first phase of Inter exams will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:35 pm, and the second phase will be conducted between 3:40 pm to 5:20 pm. Notably, the number of examinees this year is less as compared to last year. However, due to the Covid guidelines, the number of examination centers has been increased.
As per information, around 6.80 lakh students are to appear in the Matriculation and Inter examinations. A total of 3.99 lakh students will appear in matriculation while the rest 2.81 lakh students will take inter exams in all three streams. Meanwhile, a total of 1936 centres have been set up for the Matric and Inter examinations, wherein, 1256 centers have been set up for matriculation while 1936 are for intermediate.
As per information from JAC, section 144 has been imposed by the administration within 200 meters of the centres. Meanwhile, magistrates and police forces have been deployed at all the centres for a malpractice-free examination.
The JAC has also directed examination centres to organize exams as per the COVID guidelines. Two examinees will be seated on a common bench. At the same time, hand sanitizers will be given after taking the temperature of students at the main gate of the centres. The students will also be asked to maintain social distancing while entering the examination hall.
As per guidelines from the JAC, students have been instructed to reach the examination hall 45 minutes before the exam is to begin. Five minutes have been allotted between the two phases for the distribution of question paper and answer sheet. Along with this, an additional 15 minutes will be given to the examinees to read the question paper while the additional time will be divided for both the term exams separately.
Meanwhile, experts have suggested that students choose to solve questions that they are absolutely sure of first before attempting questions about which they are doubtful. About students attempting answers via OMR, the experts suggest that students need not worry, and say that OMR will be easier as compared to written answers. The students have also been advised to fill the OMR sheet correctly as a simple mistake in filling roll numbers and other information may lead to rejection of the sheet. About the questions that will be asked, experts said, the first phase will have only objective questions while the second will have both objective and subjective questions.
