Daltonganj, June 5: Six private hospitals in Garhwa await a nod from the Jharkhand state Arogya Society Ranchi to resume deliverance of medical services under the Ayushman Bharat (AB)- PM Jan Arogya Yojana.
Garhwa DC Shekhar Jamuar wrote a letter to the executive director of the Jharkhand state Arogya Society on June 3 seeking permission for these six private hospitals to offer services under Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Sources said the letter of the Garhwa DC carries immense significance as the Garhwa district had a poor track of private hospitals going out of the ambit of the AB -PM Jan Arogya Yojna for either gross deficiencies in their infrastructural facilities or in the fleet of doctors and other patient caring modes.
Sources said no DC in the past wanted to burn his fingers in the mesh of these private hospitals. Jamuar took the lead, said sources.
However, a high-level inquiry was conducted to assess and evaluate 24 private hospitals in the light of amenities and facilities as asked for under the AB PM Jan Arogya Yojna.
Six of the 24 private hospitals were found fit for recommendation at the district level to the Jharkhand state Arogya Society Ranchi to permit these 6 private hospitals to start delivering medical services.
The remaining 18 private hospitals remain on the scrutiny roll for which the Garhwa administration has sought a directive from the Jharkhand state Arogya Society.
The DC said, “People of Garhwa do have a right to avail of the AB PM Jan Arogya Yojna and so he ordered the civil surgeon Garhwa Dr Anil Kumar to initiate work in this direction.”
Jamuar said he is hopeful for these six private hospitals to get permission to undertake AB PM Jan Arogya Yojna.
Among the six private hospitals is one single speciality hospital Nayi Roshni. Its infrastructures have been found ‘appropriate’.
The other among the six is Prabhat Medical Centre. Its owner is a doctor himself. Its infrastructures are good.
Parmeshwari medical centre and Vananchal dental college have ‘excellent’ infrastructures.
It’s Maa Parwati Hospital whose owner is a surgeon but this private hospital was penalised in 2022 and its empanelling was put under suspension.
Patient treatment verification has been found between 33 to 52 per cent.
