88 candidates in fray for Dhanbad Bar polls on June 8

Dhanbad, May 18: For the biennial Dhanbad Bar Association election scheduled on June 8, a total of 88 candidates have filed nominations for 16 posts.

Today on the last day, 20 candidates filed nominations.

Bar Association election officers Devisharan Sinha and Arun  Kumar Tiwary said that among 88 candidates, three contestants- Amrendra Kumar Sahay, Harish Joshi and  Radheyshya Goswami have filed nominations for the post of president.

For the post of vice president, five candidates- PK Bhattacharya, Subodh Kumar, Ajay Kishore Narayan, Rajendra Bharti and Dhaneswar Mahto have filed nominations.

Six candidates Jitendra Kumar, Anil Kumar, Dhirendra Kumar Brahmachary, Videsh Daa, Rajendra Gope and Anjani Kumar Jha have filed nominations for the post of general secretary.

Seven candidates Madhusudan Chakravarty, Deo Kumar Prasad, Mukund Kumar Tiwary, Jaydeo Kumar, Meghnath Rawani, Krishna Bihari Sahay and Shivkumar Prasad Singh filed nominations for the post of treasurer while three candidates Diwakar Prasad Srivastava, Mukund Mahto and Parmeshwar Bari for the post of assistant treasurer.

Twelve candidates Narendra Kumar Trivedi, Amal Kumar Mahto, Saket Sahay, Brajkishore Karn, Shashi Chandra Thakur, Subhashish Chatterjee, Gopalji Pandey, Gajendra Kumar, Amit Kumar Singh, Nitu Rani, Kedarnath Mahto and Dilip Kumar Prasad filed nomination for the post of joint secretary (administration and library).

52 candidates filed nominations for the executive committee members. The election officers said the candidates may withdraw their nomination on May 19 and May 20.
