New Delhi, July 2: After noticing smoke in the cabin when exceeding 5000 feet, the crew of a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Jabalpur safely returned to the Delhi airport this morning, according to a SpiceJet representative on Saturday. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has started a probe into the matter.

The SpiceJet representative reported that all of the passengers had safely exited.

The crew observed smoke in the cabin when they passed 5000 feet, and the bathroom smoke alarm sounded. The cockpit crew was alerted right away by the cabin crew. A visual inspection, nevertheless, revealed no evidence of smoke or damage.

The smoke in the cabin grew as the ship climbed higher, so a return was started. At the Delhi airport, the plane made a successful landing.
