Ranchi, July 6: The Jharkhand School Education Department and Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) are working to set up cameras in classes of all model schools in the state.

JEPC State Project Director Kiran Kumari Pasi in this regard said, “These cameras will be set up in all classrooms of the model schools. They may also be set up in other areas of the schools’ campuses. This is to be able to monitor the presence of students, and teachers along with keeping an eye on the runnings of the school. Control and monitoring centres will also be set up for it.”

When questioned about the budget, she said that the provision for cameras had already been mentioned in the budget for the construction of the model schools.

Apart from this, sources have also claimed that under another scheme, the state government is planning to set up cameras for online monitoring in all government schools along the lines of Gujarat. The system is already in place in Gujarat and now it will be implemented in Jharkhand as well. An education review center will also be set up at the state headquarters.

Recently, during the education ministers’ conference in Gujarat, all the education ministers were also taken there for a visit. However, Education Secretary Rajesh Sharma attended the conference in place of Education Minister Jagarnath Mahato.

Notably, Gujarat monitors the daily attendance of teachers and students from the Education Review Centre established in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. Information on students’ day-to-day progress is collected. Efforts are made to improve the level of education by studying the feedback. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the Education Review Center has the potential to change the education sector on a large scale across India. He had also appealed to the states to observe and study this centre.
