Ahmedabad, July 12: As many as eight people died in Gujarat due to the nonstop rain. The state is currently experiencing flooding, which has had an impact on thousands of individuals. Ahmedabad and Rajkot are only two of the areas of the state that have been severely damaged by the constant rain.
Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rain in several districts for today and during the next five days.
Since the beginning of the monsoon, several rain-related occurrences have resulted in the deaths of 64 persons in total in Gujarat. 33 people have died from lightning, 8 from wall collapse, 16 from water, 6 from trees falling on them, and 1 person was killed when an electric pole fell on him.

Last night, Rajkot received 7 inches of rain. Due to the severe rain in Gujarat, the city is experiencing water logging problems. For the next 24 hours, Rajkot has received a warning from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). A holiday has been declared by the city administration for a number of schools and universities.
Aji-2 Dam in Rajkot’s four doors was opened to help the city avoid a flood. People who reside in low-lying areas are being moved to safer locations.
On Monday, July 11, Ahmedabad experienced the most rainfall in a single July day in the previous five years, with a record-breaking 115 mm or more falling in just three hours.
Over the past 24 hours, several regions of districts in south and central Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, saw extremely severe rains, which led to a flood-like situation in several low-lying locations.
Dang, Navsari, Valsad, Tapi, and Surat may see heavy to very heavy rainfall over the course of the next five days, according to a Met Department warning. Navsari, Valsad, Dang, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, and Panchmahal are the six worst-affected areas.
