Ranchi, Aug 5: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday secured six days’ police remand of Bacchu Yadav who was arrested last evening from Ranchi in the illegal stone mining case in Sahibganj. He was produced before the special PMLA court of Prabhat Kumar Sharma on Friday. The ED contended that the accused knows many things about the syndicate of the illegal mining as he is part of that group. Hence his interrogation is required to secure information from him to probe the case of illegal mining.

In the remand petition, the ED has said that Bacchu Yadav is a close associate of Pankaj Mishra and Dahu Yadav who are the kingpin of the illegal mining. Pankaj Mishra is the MLA representative of Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren and he is currently in judicial custody in this case. The ED further pointed out that the accused in association with others illegally run stone crusher units and he has accumulated huge wealth through illegal mining.
