Three drones to keep surveillance during Muharram in Palamu

Daltonganj, Aug 8: Elaborate police arrangements have been made in Palamu for the ongoing Muharram. Palamu police have put in three drones for its third eye from the sky.

Giving this information, Palamu Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha said, “We will be flying drones at vulnerable locations which have a history of some communal convulsions. We are short of drones so we will be flying it very selectively and strategically.”

“The drones will be flying on August 8 and 9,” the SP added.

On the last two days of the 10-day-long Muharram, the whole of the faithful all across the district spill over the roads to ‘have a feel and touch’ of the Tazias. No faithful likes to miss it. Women show more zeal in coming over to the streets to have a look at the Tazias.

Police have a very tough time keeping the crowd under control. As there is the festival of Raksha Bandhan coming next week (August 11), a huge Mela called Disney Land is on in Daltonganj and its crowd management from noon to midnight is another big challenge for the police.

“We have a plan ready to ensure passage of the Tazias as well as of the crowd movement of the Mela with perfection and ease. Vigil and security have been beefed up at the places of worship of all faith here in Palamu,” SP Sinha reminded.

The SP has also admonished users of social media to refrain from posting or texting or forwarding messages or content which is insulting, hurting and provocative to any religion and fosters hatred and animosity among people of different faith.

“If anyone receives any message which seems disturbing to peace and harmony, that written or oral stuff be only forwarded to a special number of the police only,” advised the SP.

Meanwhile, the Muharram Inteezamiya Committee has conducted Pagree Poshi for all the office bearers of the Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal here who came in great numbers under their Mahavir Nav Yuvak Dal General Jugal Kishore.

This is a very positive phenomenon here in Daltonganj when the Muslims and the Hindus carry on Pagree Poshi of each other during their two great mass occasions Muharram and Ramnavami. This tradition is on for more than 50 years and despite the negative wind between the Hindus and the Muslims across the country, this tradition goes on here without any noticeable disinterestedness.
