Ranchi, Aug.19: A delegation from the Maithili Bhasha Sangharsh Samiti’s Jharkhand chapter today gave the family’s head Rs. 41,000 in cash as a sign of support to the family that lost three members on the eve of Independence Day while attempting to hoist the national flag in response to a call from the union government.
The group that visited the scene in Arsande, a neighbourhood in the Kanke police station area, also promised to provide the family head with the assistance it needs.
Vijay Jha, the family’s head and a native of the Samastipur district, previously expressed his sorrow to the team, saying that despite his efforts to give his three children appropriate education, JUVNL’s neglect caused him to lose them all at once.
He said that this incident would not have happened if his request to remove high tension overhead wire had been granted.
Jha was urged to exercise patience by the delegation members.
Several members of the society, including Suman Thakur, Deepu Mishra (Late Ramakant Mishra Trust), and Devashish Mishra, contributed to the money that was given to Jha.
Social workers Binodanand Jha Bubuji, Naveen Kumar Jha, Kishore Jha Malviya, and Madan Mohan Jha made up the delegation.
The three deceased including Puja Jha, Aarti Jha, and Vineet Jha, all in their 20s, died from electrocution while raising the flag on the roof of their home. The event happened when the three attempted to raise the national flag using an iron rod under a high tension wire and the iron rod somehow made contact with the wire.
