Panaji, Aug 28: Pramod Sawant, the chief minister of Goa, stated on Sunday that the actor Sonali Phogat’s death case would be turned over to the Central Bureau of Investigation once all the appropriate procedures had been completed (CBI).

“Haryana CM Khattar spoke with me and requested a thorough investigation into the case. He wants CBI to take over the case after family members met him in person and requested the same,” said CM Sawant in an exclusive interaction with ANI.

He gave the probe the go-ahead and stated that the Goa government would send the matter to the CBI for additional investigation if necessary.

“I don’t have an issue with it. After all, formalities today, if required, I will give this case to CBI,” he said.

Sonali Phogat’s sister Rupesh claimed after meeting CM Khattar in Chandigarh earlier on Saturday that the CBI would conduct an investigation into the actor’s passing.

After her family met with Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in this regard, the Haryana government will write to the Goa government requesting a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into the death of BJP leader Sonali Phogat, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) was informed on Saturday.

Further investigation in the matter is in progress.
