Deoghar, Oct 29: A senior officer of Indigo Airlines, while talking to lagatar24.com, has confirmed that around 80 per cent of the seats are booked for the first week of November.  He says that after Diwali, the  Delhi bound 186 seater plane remains full whereas Kolkata bound 76 seater plane has the same fate.

Moreover, passengers will have to pay at least Rs 16,000 for Delhi and Rs 4,400 per head for Kolkata-bound flights.

With the increment in the number of passengers, Indigo is grabbing the opportunity to compensate for its early loss by charging a higher fare for Delhi and Kolkata flights.

However, Business Federation like Santal Pargana is opposing the fare hike. Talking to Lagatar24.com the regional president of Santal Pargana Chamber of Commerce Alok Mallick has criticised the fare hike policy.

He has demanded the govt to interfere and take control over the fare hike policy of privately owned air service providers. He advocates having a pragmatic policy.

Another senior officer requesting anonymity justifies the fare hike as a market dynamism phenomenon. He also denies planning to increase the number of flights.
