Ranchi, Nov 7: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to send a second summon to Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the illegal mining case within a couple of days. Well placed source said that ED is expected to give him a week’s time to appear before the agency as much incriminating evidence of money laundering has been found against him. Insiders said that as per the law the ED thrice issues notice to any person for questioning. In the case of non-compliance with summons, the agency prays to the court to issue an arrest order.

In another development the ED has directed builder businessman Vishnu Agrawal to appear for questioning on Wednesday. A native of Jhalda in West Bengal, Vishnu Agrawal is the owner of Nucleus Mall in Ranchi. The ED had raided his premises in the Bariatu Indian Army land scam case and he is a suspect along with Kolkata based businessman Amit Agrawal.

“During raids many documents were recovered. He has been called to verify and explain these documents. There are issues related to other land related to the Indian Army where documents were suspectedly forged,” well placed sources said.

It has reliably come to know that all land deals done by Vishnu Agrawal in the past are under the scanner of the ED now. This includes over one acres of land on Circular road where the hostel of Ranchi Women’s College was situated. The building was named as Katras House which once served as the hostel of Ranchi Women’s College.

In February 2018, he purchased a land measuring 3.75 acres from Mahua Mitra and Sanjay Kumar Ghosh and paid Rs. 24. 37 Crore. This is a prime land located at Siramtoli Chowk and the land is under occupation of Indian Army. Similarly, he had purchased 9.3 acres Khashmahal land at Kugru. Documents of the land were forged and an inquiry was ordered.
