SUBHASH MISHRA

Dhanbad, Nov 19: DVC will convert its transport into electric vehicles at all project stations in the next three years and set up electric vehicle charging centres at all its power projects, as per Chairman RN Singh.

Singh while inaugurating an Electric Vehicles Charging Station, jointly set up by the DVC and Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) at DVC Maithon, said that the organization has already begun implementing the project by converting transport into electronic vehicles at Kolkata and Delhi.

“As per the plan, such charging stations would be set up at all power plant sites of DVC in Bengal and Jharkhand for facility and promotion of electric vehicles,” he said.

DVC chairman RN Singh said that the price of petrol and diesel is not only rising high every day but petrol–diesel vehicles are also impacting the environment badly. Vehicle owners of all classes have been facing major problems from the rising prices of fuel. “But electric vehicles would not only come cheap transporting but also would be eco friendly,” he said.

The DVC chairman had been in Dhanbad to address International Symposium ISEDE -2022 organized by BIT Sindri.

RN Singh said DVC Maithon Charging Station is near the Delhi- Kolkata inter-state national Highway-2 and electric vehicle owners would easily get the charging facility. Moreover, Maithon is a tourist spot where people from different states come so a charging station would be helpful for those coming with EVs.

Maithon project chief PP Sah and other senior officials of DVC were also present on the occasion.
