Change lifestyle, avoid diabetes: Ranchi doctor to school kids in Ramgarh

Ramgarh, Dec 3: Under the aegis of Rotary Club Ranchi, a diabetes and blood pressure check-up camp was organised at Shri Agrasen School, Bhurkunda on Saturday. The camp was inaugurated by eminent physician Dr Vinay Kumar Dhandhania, Rotary Ranchi President Deepak Srivastava, former club president Praveen Rajgarhia, retired CCL CGM (Personnel) Rekha Singh, Rotarians Atul Agarwal, and Mukhtar Singh jointly by lighting the lamp.

Notably, free diabetes and blood pressure check-up was done for 62 people in the camp. After the examination, Dr Dhandhania gave the necessary counselling to the patients.

Earlier, in a health awareness program organised for children, Dr Dhandhania informed about the prevention of diabetes and its complications, diabetes screening, obesity, and causes of diabetes in adolescence and pregnancy, apart from obesity and menstruation. He also answered the questions asked by the children.

He said that it is necessary to change our lifestyle to avoid diabetes. He added that it is unfortunate that we go towards showing off without taking nutritious food. Because of this, we are moving towards diabetes.

He advised that if we take full sleep as well as eat on time and exercise regularly, we can avoid diabetes by increasing metabolism in our body. Dr Dhandhania told the children not to take studies as a form of stress. It is said that stress and not doing physical work also causes diabetes.
