Dhanbad, Dec 3: The postering on the wall of Upgraded High School Januadih under Dumri police station around 43 km away from Giridih allegedly by the banned organisation Communist Party of India Marxist Leninist (CPIML) have triggered panic among students and teachers in the institution.
Having found the posters on the wall of the school in the morning, teachers immediately informed the district headquarter of the department and Dumri police station. Police reached the school and removed the posters from the wall immediately. They also seized posters dumped by Naxals behind the school building.
Notably, CPIML is celebrating its week-long ( December 2 to 8) foundation day in the region and has put up posters on the wall of the school at night on Thursday and Friday. Students and teachers of the school feel unsafe after the postering incident as no police personnel has been deployed there.
Moreover, they fear that activists of the banned organisation may make them target for defying their directive by attending classes in the school. Giridih is considered Maoists influenced region and in the recent past police have arrested several rewarded leaders of the banned organisation under an ongoing special drive.
A senior teacher of the school informed media persons that after the postering on Friday, the attendance of students dropped sharply. In the posters, Maoists have written ‘Janmukti Chhapamar Sena Jindabad’.
CPIML Jindabad called upon people for making foundation day on December 7 a success. Notably, in handwritten posters Maoists have mentioned December 7, 2000, as foundation day.
A senior police officer of Giridih said that everything is normal and there is no impact of the weeklong foundation celebration of CPIML in the region. After postering search operation has been intensified in the area.
“In fact, Naxals (CPIML) have completely been wiped out from the region. In desperate attempt their sympathizers are trying to make banned organization’s presence felt in the area by putting up posters to create panic among people,” the police officer said.
