Hazaribag, Dec. 8:  On a tip-off, a team formed by the superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan and led by block development officer Abhishek Pandey of Huntergunj nabbed three drug peddlers with 3kg of opium. The recovery and arrest were made in the Godiwali area on Jori-Huntergunj road. Subdivisional police officer Avinash Kumar confirmed this success.

Sources said Ranjan got information about the trio’s presence in the Huntergunj area to transfer a consignment of opium to a purchaser. He immediately formed a team led by Pandey comprising Huntergunj officer-in-charge Sanoj Kumar Choudhary.

The team searched the area and nabbed the trio with 3kg of opium on Wednesday. The police team also recovered three mobile phones from them.

Kumar said the trio are identified as Amit Ranjan, Birendra Yadav and Nandkishor Yadav. An FIR was lodged against the trio in the NDPS act and sent to jail.
