Notably, toxic liquor caused 53 deaths in the Saran district of Bihar. Earlier, BJP leaders protested against Nitish Kumar after he demanded his resignation after he said, “Jo piyega woh marega” (those who consume fake booze shall die).
On Thursday, a number of BJP MLAs held a protest in the state Assembly over the hooch deaths, carrying banners and shouting abuse at the administration. The BJP ripped into Nitish Kumar on Monday, the second day of protests, and continued to stir up trouble inside the legislature over the Saran hooch disaster.
