Hazaribag, Jan 5: A labourer Awadhesh Soni (37) fell from an under-construction septage treatment plant of Hazaribag municipal corporation in Mandaikhurd resulting in his spot death.
Relatives charged the agency behind this for not following the safety norms resulting in the death of Soni. Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal reached the hospital and mounted pressure on the agency to pay compensation to dependants. He sticks to his demand of Rs 12 lakh compensation to the dependent and talks about it at the time of filing this story.

Sources said Soni fell down when he climbed the railing as asked by the contractor. This railing was constructed eight days ago and the way it came down raises fingers on the substandard work as well as for not following the safety norms.
Soni is survived by his elderly parents, three children and wife. Jaiswal reached Sheikh Bhikari medical college and hospital where Soni’s body was brought for postmortem. He consoled Soni’s family and promised all help to them.
Notably, BTL EPL company is constructing this plant involving many petty contractors. Jaiswal said if the company will not pay the compensation, he will take the legal course to ensure justice for the family.
“Tell me why you didn’t follow the safety norms while asking Soni to climb the railing, he asked the contractor. Even your work is substandard otherwise railing would have remained intact,” he added.
“I don’t want to listen to anything. You pay the compensation as Soni was the only breadwinner of his family,” he added with anger.
