Dhanbad, Jan 7: Around two lakh Jain followers from the country and abroad will assemble at Sammed Shikharji of Parasnath hills in Giridih district to witness Acharya Prasanna Ji Maharaj break his Silent Meditation after 557 days on January 28.
The organisers said that the President of India Droupdi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdish Dhankar, union minister Mansukh Mandavia, Purushottam Rupala, Jitu Baghani, Hursh Sanghvi and other dignitaries of the country have consented to present on this pious occasion at Sammed Shikharji.
On the completion of his ‘Silent Meditation’, a four-day special spiritual function would be organised at Sammed Shikharji from January 28 to February 3.
“Over two lakh Jain followers are expected to participate in the function,” said the organiser.
The official of the function said that Acharya Prasann Sagar Ji Maharaj has been in meditation since June 21, 2021, at Swarnbhadra Kut on Sammed Shikharji.
In his 557 days of deep meditation, he has performed even waterless fasting for 496 days so far. He has taken a diet only 61 days in his meditation so far.
“Greatness of his meditation can’t be described in words. We eat four times in a day but he takes hardly one time and continues on meditation,” said one of the followers Anil Kumar Jain of Jharia.
The ‘Silent Meditation’ breaking ceremony of Acharya Prasann Sagar Ji Maharaj at Sammed Shikarji keeps significance at a time when Jains across the country are agitating against declaring the Parasnath Hills area in Madhuban of Giridih district. The organisers said five helicopters would rain flowers on followers during the Silent Meditation breaking ceremony.
Acharya Prasann Sagar Ji Maharaj born on July 23, 1970. January 21, 1986, he left the house and took celibacy life.
