Hazaribag, Jan 13: One of the most qualified and well-known surgeons of the state, Dr Heeralal Saha, passed away today at the age of 85. He was a native of Gola in Ramgarh but after returning from abroad at a young age, he shifted to Hazaribag town and made it his workplace by setting up Kunal hospital and research centre.
Notably, Saha was known for doing more than three lakhs of surgeries including major ones. Due to this, he earned a name in the area.
Recently, Dr Saha lost his younger son Kunal Saha. He was also active in politics and fought assembly elections but tasted defeat. He was close to the Shibu Soren family as they also belonged to Gola.
As news about the death of Heeralal Saha came, people gathered outside his house to pay their last tribute. Sadar MLA of BJP Manish Jaiswal also visited his house in Imli Kothi mohalla and paid his tribute. Jaiswal said Saha was like his guardian, guiding him always.
“He was a surgeon, social worker and politician as well. His death has created a void in the society,” added he.
