New Delhi, Jan 31: India extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the Pakistan’s Peshawar mosque blast. On Tuesday, the Ministry of External Affairs released a statement condemning the attack.
“India extends its deep condolences to the families of the victims of the terror attack in Peshawar yesterday. We strongly condemn this attack, which has taken the lives of so many people,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted.

The Peshawar Police headquarters’ walled compound was breached by a bomber. At the mosque located on the premises, where more than 300 people were praying, he detonated his explosives vest.
According to a government hospital spokesperson who talked to Reuters, a number of the seriously hurt people died; the most of them were police officers. Injuries from the bombing total more than 150.
The bomber’s entry into a complex with strong security is the subject of an investigation that is currently being conducted.
The blast at the mosque claimed the lives of 93 people and injured 221 till now. Pakistan Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif called the blast a suicide attack.
Meanwhile, the attack has been condemned by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the Security Council, and a UN spokeswoman has stated that nations must ensure that their territories are not exploited for terrorism.
