Ranchi, Feb.15: BJP’s Godda MP Nishikant Dubey challenged the Deoghar district administration’s order taking Shivratri procession before the Jharkhand High Court.
The development took place today after Dubey filed a PIL saying that restrictions imposed by the district administration to take out Shiv Barat has hurt the religious sentiment of people as Deoghar is regarded an abode of Lord Shiva and it is wrong to impose restrictions in the programme organized to pay him respect and honour.
The Deoghar district administration has directed not to include elephants and horses in the Shiv Baraat. Apart from this, it has also directed not to install a tableau more than twelve feet high.
Advocates Prashant Pallav, Diwakar Upadhyay and Partha Jalan will appear on behalf of Dubey during the hearing of this PIL. Shivratri is scheduled on February 18.
