New Delhi, Feb 16: Nepalese Member of Parliament, Chandra Bhandari’s mother succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment on Thursday morning after a gas cylinder explosion at their Kathmandu residence, the MP’s office said.
Bhandari will be airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment after suffering severe injuries.
“The condition isn’t good, Bhandari needs to be taken to a hospital specialised in burns outside the country as treatment is not possible here,” authorities of Kirtipur Burns Hospital, where the duo was first taken, said.
The MP is set to be airlifted to Mumbai following the hospital’s recommendation. His treatment will continue at the National Burns Hospital in Navi Mumbai.
Bhandari and his mother were injured in an LPG gas leakage-induced blast. Bhandari sustained 25% burns, his mother sustained about 80% burn injuries.
